MONTREAL TEMPLE

We visited the Montreal temple on May 24th. It was very tiny, but beautiful. They speak French there and it was very interesting to have a language barrier with some of the people in the temple. Luckily the English speakers out numbered the French speakers so the movie was in English.
We had an interesting adventure at a Greek restaurant that had a menu written in French. A temple worker recommended it but ended up telling us, after a very long ride following him through traffic, he had never eaten there. Lucky him:)

I'm not sure why I love using my passport so much. Not so much for Elder Harman, he gets hives crossing the border:)

Building and floating the FLOAT!

I'm not going to lie, I never thought that I would be building.............
Hauling.......................
and floating a float on my mission:)

Elder and Sister Mooney from Cedar City were such great partners and did the work crafting the monument. It ended up being a great public relations opportunity. The Sister missionaries were able to speak to so many people and we hope it encourages people to visit the Memorial that is so near them.
The monument also makes random appearances at history fairs and other community events:)

Senior missionary BBQ

Elder Harman brought home a box of potatoes and several of his home grown Kobe steaks in our suitcases when we flew home form Crosbys blessing. They filled my little freezer until it was our turn to do game night with the Seniors. He is too much like his dad and he turned it into a full blown party with salmon and steaks on the grill. It defiantly made him the most popular kid on the block:)

Earning their PINS!

The Joseph Smith Birthplace has a service pin you can earn by doing four hours of service on the property. They all wanted to get their PIN so we raked and gathered limbs. They even all harnessed up and helped take down the last of the Christmas lights! Mandy was a little nervous at first but ended up going up with me and maxing out the 80 foot lift:)

Then we all got in the car and headed to the Ben and Jerry ice cream factory!

On sunday we went to church and then took our tour at the Visitors center.
After our naps we headed out in the Gators to Patriarch mountain to see the views and everything the woods had to offer!

They were such good sports to stay with us in our little apartment after the cabin we rented for them went into foreclosure:) It was fun just spending time together. Maybe they will come back!

The Balls come to Boston!!

On May 1st Mandy and Cameron and their kids flew in and we spent the next two days enjoying Boston! We enjoyed the big aquarium there and took a fun trolley ride around the city. Our tour included a ferry ride around Boston Harbor. It was fun and the trees were blooming and the flowers were out!

The nicest man gave us a tour of the giant Christian science church we could see from our hotel window. The beautiful dome on the top had us speculating what was inside so we walked over to see. They have a sister organ to the tabernacle organ in SLC. They were made by the same company and he even played Come Come Ye Saints on it for us. It was fabulous!

It was a fun filled day that wore some of us right out!!

While others rushed off to the big RED SOXS game to consume every kind of game food imaginable!!
They even got to see a  grand slam over the BIG GREEN MONSTER! Cameron is a Saint Louis fan and felt like a bit of a traitor but he said a game at Fenway Park was a big check off his bucket list:)

Granpa and Jake were AMAZED at the size of the lobsters we had for lunch the day we left!!

Happy Easter Birthday!!

Sister Lundahl and Sister Smedley

I am going to preface this with, even though the date I posted this is June 1st I am actually 6 weeks behind and am trying to play catch up so........This guy had a birthday on Easter sunday April 20th. We had a lovely pork loin dinner with all the JSM missionaries at the Directors residence. These special sisters both play the violin and shared their talents with us that beautiful day. We love them:)
