When it SNOWS it pours!!

This is what I am doing with my time theses days!!:)

We seriously had a snow storm of GIANT proportions this week. It snowed 12" one day and just kept coming down for days! The first day laid down a layer of ice and then the snow just kept piling on.

The young Elders saved our backs with all of their help!

Even the Memorial had a cap of fresh snow. This  ledge shows the first twelve inches!

The christmas Pageant and live nativity

We have been preparing for the Christmas Pageant and lights coming on. This is done at the Memorial the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving. We built a new "Inn" with the Mooneys and my girls and I painted it. The elders built a Stable on the hillside to house the animals and be a backdrop for the production. I helped dress the members of the cast. It was a great few nights and it was wonderful to see the lights come on after all of our hard work!

The Spirit was strong during the performance of the Nativity. Stake members from two different stakes take turns performing the play each year. It was fun to have a chance to help get their costumes ready. The pictures are blurry from taking them in the dark:)

After the Nativity play the Director counts down and the FM missionaries flip the switches on and the grounds come alive with lights! It was magical!

After the weekend performances are over, we move the animals down between the buildings to a new stable we constructed. This gives the children and their families the opportunity to pet the donkey and sheep, walk around the grounds and enjoy cookies and hot cider.
The Sheep- Holly and Berry

Annie the Donkey. She is not a huge fan of Elder Harman:) He treats her like an animal instead of a baby. She likes being babied. Elder Harman is trying hard to make friends!

Down side to live nativity... Mucking stalls:)
Upside..Seeing our beautiful Sister missionaries come back and visit!

SURPRISE!!!!!!

My Girls surprised me for my birthday! They took the red eye from Salt Lake into Boston the day we put Mathis, Meag and Crosby on the plane. Kent took the kids to the airport and then came back to the hotel to take me to lunch on the pier for my birthday.

To my astonishment, three of my girls were sitting at the table when we arrived! I seriously have never been so surprised! We spent the day in Boston and did a little shopping and then headed back to Vermont to put up christmas lights. My oldest daughter met us there and we spent two days, in the FREEZING cold, putting up lights in the lift and shoveling snow!

We did a little antique shopping and the girls made us a fantastic Pre-Thanksgiving dinner so we could feel a little less sad about missing it with our family.
